What to Expect
Your Appointment, Step by Step
Visit length depends on the treatment, from a few minutes for a B12 shot to about an hour for filler treatments.

Consultation
Your provider reviews your medical history and past treatments and confirms you’re a good candidate. This step matters most for delicate areas like the under eyes and nose.

Prep
Your skin is cleansed and numbing cream is applied where needed. Many fillers also contain lidocaine to keep you comfortable.

Treatment
Your provider places the product precisely, often using a cannula in delicate areas like the under eyes, and checks the result as they go.

Follow-Up
You’ll leave with personalized aftercare instructions. For filler treatments, your provider may suggest a check-in once any swelling has settled.
Downtime
Minimal for Most Treatments
B12 shots and the lip flip have no real downtime. After under eye filler or non-surgical rhinoplasty, mild swelling and bruising are common and usually fade within about a week. After Hylenex, some swelling may last a day or two.
After a Radiesse BBL, expect tenderness in the treated area and follow your provider’s instructions on activity and sitting. Contact us right away if you notice unusual pain, skin color changes, blanching or any change in your vision after a filler treatment.
Results
When You’ll See It, How Long It Lasts
Under eye filler and non-surgical rhinoplasty results are visible right away, with the final result once swelling settles. Hylenex usually works within 24 to 48 hours. A lip flip settles in over about one to two weeks.
Under eye filler and non-surgical rhinoplasty typically last 12 to 18 months. A lip flip lasts about 6 to 8 weeks. Radiesse BBL results build as collagen forms. Results vary from person to person.

Am I a good candidate for under eye filler?
It works best for hollowing and shadows caused by volume loss. Puffiness or loose skin may need a different approach. Your provider will assess your under eyes at your consultation. Read more in our under-eye filler guide.
Is non-surgical rhinoplasty permanent?
No. It uses hyaluronic acid filler, which typically lasts 12 to 18 months and can be dissolved if needed. It can refine the shape of your nose but can’t make it smaller.
What’s the difference between a lip flip and lip filler?
A lip flip uses neurotoxin to relax the upper lip so it rolls slightly outward, with no added volume. Lip filler adds volume and shape. See our Lip Enhancement page for filler options.
Can Hylenex dissolve any filler?
Hylenex only dissolves hyaluronic acid fillers, like Restylane and Juvederm. It doesn’t dissolve Sculptra or Radiesse.
How often can I get a B12 shot?
It depends on your needs and health history. Your provider will recommend a schedule that’s right for you.
Who shouldn’t get specialty injectables?
Most of these treatments aren’t recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or with an active infection in the treatment area. Certain allergies, medical conditions and medications may also rule them out.
