What It Treats

Targeted Light, Lasting Results

Our lasers and light-based devices use specific wavelengths of energy to target hair follicles, pigment, ink or the deeper layers of the skin while protecting the surface around them. Your provider sets each treatment for your skin type and goals.

Unwanted Hair

Laser hair removal targets the pigment in the hair follicle for long-term reduction on the face and body.

Skin Texture & Tone

Pico, skin resurfacing, RF microneedling and IPL improve wrinkles, acne scars, sun spots, freckles and uneven tone.

Tattoo Removal

A dual-wavelength picosecond laser breaks ink into tiny particles that your body clears away over time.

Struggling with breakouts? AC Dual is a light-based treatment for acne and inflammation. Read our guide to laser hair removal, or compare options in Microneedling vs. Laser.

What to Expect

Your Appointment, Step by Step

Most laser appointments take about 15 to 60 minutes, depending on the treatment and the size of the area.

  1. 01

    Consultation

Your provider reviews your skin type, medical history, medications and recent sun exposure, and agrees with you on the right treatment and number of sessions.

  2. 02

    Prep

For hair removal, shave the area the day before. Avoid tanning before treatment. You’ll wear protective eyewear, and numbing may be used for some treatments.

  3. 03

    Treatment

Most clients describe each pulse as a quick snap, like a rubber band, or a feeling of warmth. Cooling helps keep you comfortable.

  4. 04

    Series

Most laser treatments work best as a series. Hair removal usually takes 6 to 9 sessions, and tattoo removal needs several sessions spaced weeks apart.

Downtime

Plan Around the Sun

After laser hair removal, redness and small bumps around the follicles usually settle within a few hours. After resurfacing, Pico or RF microneedling, expect redness and mild swelling for a few days.

Tattoo removal can cause temporary whitening, swelling, blistering or scabbing while the skin heals, so keep the area clean and covered as directed. Whatever your treatment, avoid direct sun and wear SPF 30 or higher while your skin recovers.

Results

When You’ll See It, How Long It Lasts

Treated hairs shed over the one to three weeks after each session, with less regrowth each time. Skin treatments improve over the weeks after each session as collagen rebuilds, and tattoos fade gradually across your series.

Laser hair removal gives long-term reduction, and some clients book an occasional touch-up. How many tattoo sessions you need depends on the size, colors and age of the ink. Results vary from person to person.

Good to Know

Laser FAQs

Does laser hair removal hurt?

Most clients describe it as a quick snap, like a rubber band, with a feeling of warmth. Built-in cooling helps keep it comfortable.

How many sessions will I need?

Laser hair removal usually takes 6 to 9 sessions, because hair grows in cycles and only actively growing hair responds. Tattoo removal and skin treatments vary, and your provider will recommend a plan at your consultation.

Is laser safe for my skin type?

Our laser hair removal is safe for most skin types. Your provider assesses your skin and adjusts the settings for you, and may suggest a test spot first.

Do I need to avoid the sun?

Yes. Avoid tanning and direct sun before and after treatment, and wear SPF 30 or higher daily. Tanned skin raises the risk of side effects. See our tips on reversing summer sun damage.

Can any tattoo be removed?

Most tattoos can be faded significantly. Black and dark inks usually respond best, while some colors take more sessions. Your provider can give you a realistic expectation at your consultation.

Who shouldn’t get laser treatment?

Laser isn’t recommended during pregnancy, on recently tanned or sunburned skin, with an active skin infection in the area, or while taking certain light-sensitizing medications such as isotretinoin (Accutane). Share your full medical history at your consultation, and see our Safety & Prescribing page for more information.
